The PENN Memory Center (PMC) in the University of Pennsylvania's Alzheimer's Disease Center is looking for a Clinical Research Flow Coordinator to join our multi-disciplinary team of health professionals. The Clinic Flow Coordinator works with individuals diagnosed with dementia and their families in both the clinic and in PMC research clinical trials involving Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. Responsibilities include obtaining informed consent for clinical trials, managing the flow of the clinic, and gathering information from the patients and their families. This position also coordinates the staffing and management of clinic patients, obtains vital signs, collects, processes and stores biological specimens, including cerebral spinal fluid (CSF), and maintains the biological samples storage freezer. The Clinic Flow Coordinator has a role in the success of subject recruitment into clinical research studies, the quality and maintenance of clinical research data, and maintains the Resource Center. The Clinic Flow Coordinator may be responsible for administering cognitive assessments. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
Qualifications
The minimum of a High School diploma and 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. Fluency in Spanish is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing subjects with neurological or psychiatric disorders. A capacity for compassion and the interpersonal skills needed to work with elderly patients with dementia is essential. Experience and comfort with phlebotomy is preferred. Must be proficient with word processing, databases, and Outlook, have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, and be able to work as part of a fast paced team. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, solutions-oriented, and able to multi-task. The position is contingent upon funding.
